How we work

Laura is in charge of strategy and partner relations. Born in Barcelona, Laura is an ocean lover by nature and a journalist by training. She has reported in over 20 countries for outlets such as the New York Times, Foreign Policy, and The Guardian. She has also been a consultant for a wide variety of companies and non-profits, deploying Systems Thinking (Postgraduate Diploma from Cornell University) and Disruptive Design, a methodology developed by Leyla Arcangelou, UNEP Champion of the Earth.

Nathan manages the project's media impact and content production. Originally from California, he has worked as a filmmaker and photographer in the US, East Africa and East Asia, reporting on environmental crises for outlets such as CNN and BBC. He has also worked for clients like UNHCR, Save the Children, Bosch, and Microsoft. He is passionate about combining the rigor of journalistic storytelling with innovative media approaches to give ocean stories the wide audience they deserve.

With a keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, María is dedicated to providing a smooth and hassle-free service experience to all our clients. She has impeccable visual taste; a natural talent she cultivated by studying film production and later working for international film festivals, such as FCM-PNR Madrid. Her commitment to social causes provided the motivation to put those skills in service of various non-profits. Born in the Mediterranean, she recently sailed away for Irish waters and is now based on the cliffs of Dublin.

Rachael is our resident wordsmith, managing copy across all brand and client channels. Having lived in various countries, including Scotland and the UAE, she’s now based in the East of England, a stone’s throw from the coast, tidal rivers, and beautiful countryside. Working in the publishing industry for over 10 years, she’s passionate about everything nature and sustainability centric, from climate change to food provenance.

Ani leads our digital marketing, overseeing content production and community management across our clients' social media profiles. Driven by a genuine passion for communications and marketing, Ani brings a practical perspective, enriched by her sustainability-focused work experiences. Outside of her professional commitments, Ani harbors a deep appreciation for the art of storytelling, particularly through photography. She's currently based in Budapest.

Vanessa is in charge of nurturing connection among our partners and within our team, bringing a multifaceted background and lifelong passion for nature to her work. Born to a Colombian mother and English father in rural England, she developed exceptional communication skills from an early age. Vanessa's diverse professional experience includes roles as an educator, executive assistant, UN editorial consultant, and event manager at the prestigious IE University in Madrid.

After nearly six years in the Spanish capital, Vanessa relocated to the coastal city of Palma de Mallorca, drawn by her affinity for the sea. Her move reinforced her commitment to using her cross-cultural perspectives and strong interpersonal abilities in service of environmental action.
